we keep aiming towards the light

nightfall brought a biting frost

pushing through these rusty shapes
skyscrapers to stand as the hollow teeth
of an ancient beast that swallowed itself
the triumph of a million year long evolution
the crown of a seven days creation
and we're walking out
of these ruins we were bound
slouching down to the shore
the sand pricks feet so sore
we start to swim
but we are sinking in
into a cozy cold comfort
a feeling felt before
we will never stop to consume
what we can get goes up in fumes
recollecting our hope
nothing with what we can't cope
despite this endless pitch black night

as everything we want to grow
and we will grow down to shallow bones
